Treatment Methods //
There are many treatment methods for varicose veins, including endovenous ablation (EVLA), cyanoacrylate venous closure (superglue), radiofrequencey ablation (RFA), injection microsclerotherapy, ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy (UGS), ambulatory mini-phlebectomy, cutaneous laser, high ligation and stripping, compression therapy.
Many patients have different types of vein lesions in their legs and need integrated therapy.
INJECTION MICROSCLEROTHERAPY
A micro-needle is used for injection. Slight pain may be experienced but only last for a few seconds or minutes. No scar will be left after therapy. After clearing these abnormal veins, the blood can be redirected to the normal ones and hence the blood stasis is eliminated. The injected veins will go away permanently. However, some patients may deveped new lesions due to their personal diathesis or life style.
A polarized head light magnification system is used in the procedure
Attention Points After the Treatment
A graduated compression stocking should be worn to increase the successful rate. Your doctor will tell how long you should wear the stocking. You can return to normal activity immediately after the treatment. Please avoid standing or sitting too long and keep regular exercise. Avoid leg massage or hot bath during the treatment period. Some topical drugs are helpful to facilitate absorption of the bruising or pigmentation. Please inquire your doctor or nurses.
About 80%-95% of the lesions will be cleared after one to multiple treatment sessions. It takes about 20 min to 45 min for each session. Please discuss with your doctor about how many sessions are required for your veins.
